On 27 February 2023, the Republic of Azerbaijan served on the Republic of Armenia a Notice of Arbitration pursuant to Article 27 of the Energy Charter Treaty and the Arbitration Rules of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law, 1976. The Permanent Court of Arbitration acts as Registry in this arbitration.

On 19 August 2016, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan instituted arbitral proceedings against the Republic of India under Paragraph 2(b) of Annexure G to the Indus Waters Treaty 1960. A Court of Arbitration was constituted pursuant to Annexure G. The Permanent Court of Arbitration acts as Secretariat to the Court of Arbitration pursuant to Paragraph 15(a) of Annexure G.

By a Notice of Arbitration dated 2 April 2025, the Claimants commenced the present arbitration proceedings against the Respondent under the Agreement between the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Government of the Republic of Ghana for the Promotion and Protection of Investments, signed on 22 March 1989.

The Respondent submitted its Response to the Notice of Arbitration on 6 June 2025.
